OUR COMMUNITY NEEDS

Hand reaching up from field

The International Centre for Family Advancement (ICFA) was established in 2008 in Lagos, Nigeria, and opened a branch office in 2019 in Nairobi, Kenya.

A study conducted in 2008 in Lagos State revealed that many families live below the poverty line with an average household income of $20 per month. Out of 8,117 households surveyed, 2,797 were from slum areas. A significant proportion of these families originated from specific regions: 91.5% from Epe, 84.7% from Ibeju-Lekki, and 81.9% from Badagry. Women and children are particularly affected, with mothers denied access to health facilities and many children dropping out of school.

ICFA was established to address these critical issues, providing free health programs and empowerment initiatives, with a particular focus on women.

Our educational initiatives include scholarships for children who have dropped out of school. We believe education is a fundamental human right and advocate for every child's opportunity to expand their knowledge.
